I saw Herman's Hermits in concert. They were on the Monkees' 20th reunion concert tour. That was my first concert. Davy Jones, who I pictured as a 20-year-old cutie (I was 12), was a bit of a letdown as a 40-year-old.
katyola: I remember you telling me that. I saw the British shows in 1988/89.
I thought it was quite interesting how the roles of Davy Jones and Peter Tork had swapped around in the intervening years.
Davy Jones capered around like a jester/clown and was, frankly, quite uncool.
On the other hand, Peter Tork had to, literaly, just unbutton his jacket to get the (early 40's) ladies squealing like teenagers.
Great gig.
