I have been tagged by Daisy Mae.
What’s in my wallet?
That worked well! (Maybe I will drop a couple of more favourites into the blog in the future, but I won't make a habit of it.)
If the Darling Buds had appeared 5 years later, in the middle of Britpop, they would have been huge. I really believe that.
Gotta go. "Lost" awaits.
What’s in my wallet?
- Cineworld Unlimited card.
- Caffe Nero Fruit Booster Loyalty Card.
- Your M&S Hot Food To Go card. (I actually have no memory of picking that one up.)
- Caffe Nero Loyalty Card.
- Another Cineworld Unlimited card. (Eh? Oh, I remember. They said the card was damaged, so they sent me another one. Funny, that. I used both...)
- W. H. Smith Club Card.
- Nectar Card.
- Barclay Card.
- American Express Card.
- Lloyds TSB Debit Card.
- Lloyds TSB Credit Card.
- Caffe Uno Loyalty Card.
- Johnson's Cleaning Priority Club Card.
- Nationwide Debit Card.
- Nationwide Credit Card.
- MVC Card. (Used once in 2003. Chuck the fucker!)
- Abbey Cashpoint Card.
- Comet Your Way Card.
- House Of Fraser Card.
- Debenhams Card.
- Company Key Card (which holds the worst picture of yours truly ever taken - look at it and you will turn to stone.)
- Kate Winslet's phone number on a bit of paper. (Made that one up.)
What’s in my car?
- Haven't got a car! If I did have a car I would have one of those control panels in the dashboard that would turn the car into a weapon. You know the kind of thing. Machine guns out of the sides, missiles out of the exhaust, etc. Oh, yes. And an ejector seat.
What's in my closet?
- Too many shirts.
- Not enough pairs of jeans.
- Too many T-shirts.
- Too many sweatshirts.
- Not enough jumpers.
- Ties.
- Not enough pairs of shorts.
- Too many coat hangers.
- Trousers.
- Jogging trousers. (I last jogged in 1983!)
- Plastic bags.
- Porn videos.
- Porn magazines. (Hmm... If I say so myself, Chasey Lain looks kind of fine.)
I am addicted to You Tube. There are videos posted on that site that I had no idea existed.
Time for a quick test.
Here's a Darling Buds classic and a bit of an interview.

I love how the British call sweaters jumpers. In America, this is a jumper.
So, maybe it's not so bad that you don't have many of those in your closet!

fuff - You may well be right.
mark - I remember you telling me that. Some instore gig, wasn't it?
I only saw the Darling Buds once. 1992 at Edwards No. 8. They were doing a double header tour with a band called A House. (Whatever happened to them?)
The Darling Buds were up first. They played lots of stuff from "Erotica", which was OK, and then some classics ("Big Head", "It Makes No Difference To Me", "Hit The Ground" and "Burst") which I loved.
But, sad to admit it, A House blew the Darling Buds off the stage. Shame that.
The lesson here is that there is a world of difference between a great live band and a great studio band. I still love those records. Doesn't everybody have a band that they love that nobody has ever heard of?
katyola - Eeek! What the fuck is that? No. I do not have one of those in my closet.

I do - Power Of Dreams, obscure Irish Indierockers. Never saw them play to more than around 200 people.
Now seeing Pynchon in one of those american-style 'jumpers' really would be, er... Traumatic! :-)
Not really familiar with the Darling Buds, i was in a metal ghetto at the time and didn't listen to anything that wasn't about shagging the dead or some such nonsense. They sound pretty good, i can see what you mean about them being big if they came along later
