Tony Blair was right. Hangovers get worse as you get older. (He did a fluffy interview in the Metro free newspaper, a couple of weeks ago, in which he was asked when he last got very drunk. He said that he had not got drunk for a very long time because it took too long to recover and was not worth the effort.)
Yesterday was a total waste of time.
I felt OK in the morning. We went out to see "Failure To Launch" (Eeek! Not my idea.) but the newspaper got the times wrong and we ended up seeing nothing. We went into town briefly. Lorraine perused shops. I started to get a headache. We went home. The headache got worse and I felt ill. I took tablets and ate some food. The headache wouldn't go away. I refused to go to bed and instead vegetated for something like 10 hours watching "The 100 Greatest Musicals Of All Time" on More 4, "Green Wing" on Channel 4, "Manchester Passion" on BBC2 (which I thought was pretty good) and some of "Lost In Space".
Lorraine is home. She has purchased lunch.
I may go to see "Junebug" this afternoon or I may not.
Set your watches. "Doctor Who" returns this evening.

Crisis over and a general thanks here for all good wishes received on the blog and also via email. Mundanity rules. Nothing has finished.

I quite fancied seeing the Manchester Passion but I was pissed.
"He said that he had not got drunk for a very long time because it took too long to recover"
Just goes to show what a toss pot he is. Hangovers are worse when you can't hold your booze. The best way to avoid them is to have a high booze tolerance I find.
Churchill had the right answer. Big fucking cigar and a massive whiskey before breakfast. He was a fuck sight older than Balir as well.
